I ended up not blues dancing at Folklife because 1) I wanted to bring my camera for pictures, but then would’ve been so worried about it that I wouldn’t have danced and 2) the weather was awful. Either way, my practically-a-cousin was hulaing at Folklife today, so we we had to show our Ohana support.
I took some awesome hula pictures and made a point to see if I could find any other dancers (lead-follow relationship dancers) at 12:00pm around Seattle Center. I found a bunch of people contra’ing (because those Contra dancers NEVER QUIT. Omigosh.) and took some pictures. Upon looking at them, I was happy that there wasn’t a single dancer in the pictures that didn’t have a big ol’ smile and looked just plain happy. If someone asks why they should dance, I think they only need to look at the faces of people who are already dancing to find the answer.
